Summer is here. The days are longer. The weather is warmer. School is out. Families take vacations. Kids head outside to play. Parks fill with laughter, and calendars begin filling with all the activities that make this season special. But this month's theme isn't really about summer. It's about something deeper.
Over the past few months, we've been exploring what matters. In April, we focused on returning to what matters. We reflected on our hearts, minds, relationships, work, faith, and the areas of life that often need renewal. In May, we explored what it means to live what matters. We reflected on identity, connection, impact, and direction. We asked questions about who we are, how we strengthen our relationships, how we make a positive difference, and what guides the way we live.
This season, we're asking a different question: Are we taking time to enjoy what matters? In a world that moves faster every year, it's easy to spend our lives focused on what's next. The next task. The next goal. The next responsibility. The next achievement. The next season of life. We work hard to build meaningful lives, meaningful relationships, and meaningful memories. Yet somewhere along the way, many of us stop enjoying the very things we were working so hard to create. We rush through conversations. We overlook simple moments. We become distracted by schedules, screens, and endless to-do lists. Before we know it, another season has passed.
Summer has a way of reminding us to slow down. Not because life suddenly becomes less important. But because we finally have a chance to notice what's been there all along. This summer, we're celebrating five simple ways to enjoy what matters: play, explore, laugh, discover, and spend time together. These ideas may seem simple, but they remind us of something important. Meaningful lives aren't built through productivity alone. They're built through experiences, relationships, curiosity, joy, and connection. Whether it's a family outing, a neighborhood adventure, a favorite summer activity, or an ordinary afternoon spent with people we love, these moments help create the memories and discoveries that shape us.
A walk through the park. A picnic with family. A day at the beach. Flying a kite. Reading a book. Playing a game. Blowing giant bubbles. Watching a sunset. Sharing a laugh with someone we love. None of these moments seem particularly extraordinary on their own. Yet when we look back on life, these are often the moments we remember. Not because of the activity itself. But because of the people we shared it with and the memories we created together. Throughout this season, Roxy and Kylo will be setting off on a series of summer adventures designed to celebrate curiosity, connection, play, learning, and the simple joys that make life meaningful.
Along the way, we'll explore a simple reminder: The things that matter most aren't always found in life's biggest moments. More often, they're found in the moments we slow down enough to notice, appreciate, and enjoy. Because living what matters is important. But enjoying what matters might be just as important.
Here's to a summer filled with adventure, laughter, connection, and memories worth making.
Let's enjoy what matters.
